The greatest Lego set for Voltron fans is almost here. Everyone knew it was going to eventually go to production the day it was spotted on the LEGO Ideas site. Fans have been waiting a long time so we are glad it’s finally here. So, if you are looking to add this bad boy to your collection there are a few dates to keep in mind. The set is due for a wide release in Lego stores and online August 1st. Lego VIPs get a head start and can start ordering July 23rd. Everyone knew this set was going to be a hit when it was announced as the LEGO Ideas winner way back when. If you got one early, consider yourself lucky. They are currently out of stock online. The sets are currently fetching double retail on the secondary market. If they aren’t gone already, you might get lucky and still find them on shelves somewhere.

LEGO announced today that the LEGO Ideas Defender of the Universe set had reached the final stage of approval and will indeed be coming to stores. It is set to be released sometime in 2018.
