More NECA Toy Fair Reveals Up for Pre-Order

A few more things from NECA went up for pre-order over the past couple of days.  In my opinion, they won the Toy Fair again.  Up for pre-order are the highly anticipated Ash vs Evil Dead Series 1.  This series has been getting alot of chatter on Twitter. NECA presents an awesome line of action figures based on the Starz TV series Ash vs. Evil Dead! The series follows Ash – stock boy, aging lothario, and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who spent 30 years avoiding responsibility and the terrors of the Evil Dead. The Series 1 assortment includes Value Stop Ash, Hero Ash, and Eligos! Value Stop Ash comes with two interchangeable head sculpts, alternate wooded hand, and murderous doll; Hero Ash comes with two interchangeable head sculpts, alternate mechanical hand, and shotgun that fits in a back holster; and the Eligos features plenty of gruesome detail! Figures stand approximately 7-inches tall and are highly articulated.

Alien Series 7 is also up for August delivery.  The Series includes Weyland Yutani Commando, Dog Alien, and the first Ellen Ripley figure from this movie to feature the likeness of Sigourney Weaver! Ripley in Prisoner Uniform comes with removable jacket, 2 sets of arms, along with flashlight and torch accessories; Weyland Yutani Commando comes with removable goggles, custom pulse rifle, and knife that fits in a boot sheath; and the Dog Alien comes in brown and gray variants, with over 30 points of articulation and bendable tail! Each highly articulated figure measures approximately 7-inches tall (Dog Alien measures over 9-inches tall).

Their Aliens Warrior 1986 Version 1:4 Scale Action Figure is also due to ship in August.  The menacing Warrior stands over 22-inches tall and has a hinged jaw that opens, revealing an inner mouth that extends for realistic movie action. It has almost 30 points of articulation, including double knee joints and a bendable tail. The Warrior Alien is completely movie-accurate, down to the bluish tint that actually came from the lighting used in the film to heighten the cold, alien nature of these creatures!

NECA is also celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Rocky by releasing new figures and re-isssuing others.  Series 1 focuses on Rocky III, in which Rocky Balboa fights and is beaten bloody by Clubber Lang, losing his world championship. It debuts a never-before-seen Rocky figure in black trunks based on posters and promo art for the movie, which comes with an incredibly detailed championship belt accessory. The assortment also includes three re-issued figures – two versions of Clubber Lang in both black trunks and blue trunks with unique head sculpts, and a gold trunks version of Rocky! Realistic sculpts feature the likenesses of actors Sylvester Stallone and Mr. T. These 7-inch scale figures are fully articulated and ready to take their one-in-a-million shot at the dream. Special window box packaging both celebrates the 40th Anniversary and preserves the value of the original releases for collectors.

Their new Predator offering are also up for pre-order.  It is hard to believe that are already on Series 16 and still killing it with new ideas.  This series pays homage to the early 90’s.  Series 16 includes Spiked Tail Predator, Stalker Predator, and Ghost Predator. Taking inspiration from those designs, NECA’s team has applied modern sculpting, detail, and articulation to upgrade these vintage Predators for the new millennium. Each Predator comes with character-specific accessories, removable masks, and Stalker glows in the dark just as the original figure did! These highly detailed figures stand approximately 8-inches tall and feature nearly 30 points of articulation. The special blister card packaging is an homage to the classic card art as well, featuring custom illustrations and a color palette that ties back to the toy shelves of the early 90s.

NECA’s next Predator Deluxe Action Figure is an homage to a figure that was a deluxe release in the classic Kenner Expanded Universe line – the Clan Leader! Taking inspiration from the 1990s designs, NECA’s team has applied modern sculpting, detail, and articulation to bring this vintage Predator into the new millennium, resulting in their most complex Predator figure yet. And at 8 1/2-inches tall, he’s also the biggest figure in the 7-inch scale Predator line to date – bigger even than the previous Bad Blood Deluxe Action Figure!
