I was just informed that Hasbro announced that they will be discontinuing waves 2,3,4,5,6, and 7 of their 6 inch Black Series line. Waves 8 and 9 are still set to hit shelves in June. We also know they are committed to future waves from previous announcements and leaked photos. So why are they discontinuing so many waves all of a sudden? I can only assume they are clearing the assembly lines for the influx of Episode VII merchandise they have to produce. Remember it’s been nearly a decade since our last Star Wars release and the first since being a Disney property. They will hold nothing back as far as merchandise goes so it makes sense to clear every resource available.
So if the rumors are true and the above mentioned waves are being cancelled it would be wise to grab everything in those waves you can find. Remember wave 1 stinking up shelves until it was discountined, then boom. Now poor Greedo and Obi Wan might get some love. Remember the later waves haven’t been in production as long so there will be fewer of those out there in the wild.
