I have been having killer luck lately when it comes to finding NECA goodness in the wild. On my weekly Target visit I found the new Predator wave and just one Ultimate Gremlin hiding behind some T2 figures. I grabbed the gremlin and will have to wait on the Predators, you can only afford so much.
As much as I would like more than one, at $27.99 that’s a tough sell. Especially if you plan on getting Stripe and the GameStop exclusive too.
The NECA Ultimate Gremlin comes packaged in a collector-friendly window box with opening flap. His body features over 25 points of articulation, including ears and jaw. The regular Ultimate edition comes with popcorn bags that can be placed over the ears like in the movie, assorted candy, mug, playing cards, 3D glasses and cigarette. With all those accessories you can see why people would want more than one. (I am going to hold off on adding another until I get the Gamestop variant and Ultimate Stripe)
The paint and attention to detail are amazing. They look like they really did jump out of the screen of the Gremlins movies. You can really tell that NECA completely re-sculpted the original Gremlin. One con though, is the articulation. While the movement of the ears and jaw allow for great facial expressions; the legs are kind of awkward, making it hard for him to stand on his own in certain poses. Even with the clunky articulation, I would still recommend this to any Gremlins fan.
If you are looking to add this Ultimate Gremlin to your collection he is available at NECA’s eBay and Amazon stores. You can also still pre-order him from our friends at Entertainment Earth.
