Inside the Toy Box sums up the past week’s toy news, top sellers, trends, pre-orders and any other great happenings in the world of toys and pop culture. Be sure to scroll down and check out the sales at the bottom.
NYCC has just wrapped and Hasbro was on hand to release images of some of the new EPVII 6-inch Black Series. In case you missed it you can get caught up here. The new figures will be mixed through out Waves 3 and 4, due out November and December respectively. We also got some details on two new aliens in The Force Awakens. Vanity Fair has the photo. I have a habit of getting take down notices so click here for the image. The girl in the middle dressed in black is Bazine. She will be appearing in the short story “The Prefect Weapon”, due out Nov, 24. And the guy in red? The Crimson Corsair, a swashbuckling intergalactic pirate appearing in the story “The Crimson Corsair and the Lost Treasure of Count Dooku”. A sweet statue of Captin Phasma went up and we all know she’s hot so grad one before they pre-sell out. Just look at her 6-inch Black Series on eBay.
Speaking of statues Wonder Woman from Batman v Superman also went up for pre-order. She joins The Man of Steel, Batman, and Armored Batman. The Aliens Warrior Drone statue is also worth checking out.
Dark Horse announced at NYCC a new Game of Thrones figure, Varys. Varys will be the twenty-third figure in the series and is slated for in-store release in April of 2016, just in time for the launch of season 6 of Game of Thrones. He joins four additional Game of Thrones figures in spring 2016: Ygritte, Margaery Tyrell, Oberyn Martell, and Grey Worm.
In case you missed it, Season 6 of The Walking Dead premiered last night. No spoilers don’t worry. I have been selling McFarlane’s toys for a while but just recently started watching the series with the kids back in school. Yeah I am lame I know. I am a fan of the 10-inch deluxe figures like Daryl Dixon, Survivor Daryl, Rick Grimes, the new Vigilante Rick, and the new Michonne.
Some old Deadpool action figures are creeping up on eBay. We all know the first appearance of Deadpool in action figure form was in 1992 thanks to Toy Biz . We also know the hottest is the Marvel Legends Series 6 Deadpool. There is also a little know KB Exclusive that is picking up a little steam. It came out in 1998 and is a repack of the 1992 figure. It looks like there is just one on eBay and they are asking $129. It is one worth keeping an eye on as the movie approaches. There’s also a new Deadpool figure in wave 7 of the 3 3/4- inch Infinite series hitting shelves soon, so be on the lookout.
On the topic of movies Back to the Future day is coming on the 21st. If you are not aware or have never seen the Trilogy (Flux Capacitor Edition is pretty sweet), October 21, 2015 is the date that travel to in the second installment. To make the occasion Pepsi is planning on releasing a limited number of Pepsi Perfect to make the occasion. 1500 were passed out at NYCC this past weekend with the remaining 5000 going on sale Oct 21 for, you guessed it, $20.15. Be sure to follow their social media for updates and how to get your hands on some.
I know I was really looking forward to hover boards this but I am sadly disappointed. Thanks to our friends at neolevtach.com this is as close as most of us are going to get.
I personally have the 3-inch one with is currently out of stock EE but in stock here. I am wishing I would have sprung for the 6 or 12 inch and got the 5-pack of boards. If you are a fan of the Delorean but not down on dropping a lot of cash, Welly make some nice 1:24 scale die-cast and the 3-pack is hot off the truck.
Now if you are a fan of high quality die-cast I reccomend adding the 1:18 scale Hot-Wheels Elite with Hover Board to your collection. You can see mine in the back ground of the hover board video.
