To say the live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is one of my all-time favorites is an understatement. By 1990 the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were by far my favorite franchise and I was all about turtles at the time. I had a TMNT themed birthday party, nothing but turtle Christmas, and the movie was one of the few times I remember seeing my Dad in a movie theatre. But for whatever reason, I had a ton of cartoon based action figures but never bothered for the live action versions. Of course, that all changed a couple of years ago when I saw NECA was releasing a line of movie figures. Until recently, Playmates was the sole maker of TMNT figures. The only reason I think NECA (and others) got any sliver of the license is that fact that any TMNT figure they release is some sort of store or con exclusive. NECA always does their best to get things to as many people as possible. That said, some of these figures are harder to come by than others. What I have learned is patience is key.
The buzz was great about this set when it was revealed a while back. If you going to SDCC you could pre-order, insuring one you be waiting for you when you got there. It looks like a few of the lucky ones are trying to make a quick buck, and I don’t blame them. A set that cost you $100, is going for $350-$400 for both the turtles and foot clan. Individual boxes are going for around $175. Thats not a bad return for pre-ordering and swinging by the NECA booth to pick them up. (more…)
Once again NECA breaks the internet with their latest SDCC reveal. Appropriately, they used #TurtleDay to make the announcement. There will be two boxes sets, one for the turtles, and one for the Foot Clan. There is no word on price, but NECA assured more information later this week. We snagged a few photos but you can check out all the awesomeness here. (more…)
These were due to hit shelves on Sunday, April 10th. They will only be at Walmart, so be on the look out. The set includes all for turtles with interchangeable heads and accessories from the second installment of the 90’s TMNT movie. Each figure will have around 34 points of articulation and cost $19.99. Hopefully Krang and Shredder will be coming soon. (more…)
These went up for pre-order today with a “street date” of April 10th. Retailers are not allowed to put out merchandise before the manufacturers established street date. One of our insiders got us some photos of what you can expect to find on shelves this Sunday. (more…)
