I’m glad to see NECA back at NYCC after taking a couple of years off. They also brought a couple new reveals. Triceraton is coming to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon line and Nosferatu for the Toony Terrors. All their display was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Gremlins, Horror, and a little Godzilla. DC Collectibles had a bunch of reveals at their panel today at NYCC. They discussed a lot of upcoming releases. The fan favorites seem to be the new additions to animated series line. It’s looks like we are finally getting some sort of The Batman Who Laughs action figure. I’m not a huge collector of statues but some of the new additions look really cool. Toy Fair is upon us again, and I find myself asking the same question. Why do I continue to choose NYCC over Toy Fair? Every year I also tell myself to get my act together because I have the resources to make both happen. In the meantime, for those of us who can’t attend, there are plenty of others out there sharing their experiences. Our go to for all the current Toy Fair happenings is always @cobrashowjoes on twitter. We seem to be on the same brain waves as these guys, so it’s always fun watching them share their experience. Expect to see a lot from them. We will try and share as much as possible but our main focus will be NECA’s reveals. They are one of our favorite toy makers and crush it every year. Hasbro have officially revealed several new figures at their Fan Expo Canada panel. We will start with Star Wars first. Most of the figures were already revealed at SDCC and other places. That didn’t mean there wasn’t anything totally new. Dryden Vos from Solo movie will be joining the Black Series. He wont be like any other Black Series figure though, his scars will change depending on the temperature of the room.
New figures on the Vintage Collection front include: Captain Phasma, with Darth Revan, Elite Praetorian Guard, Enfys Nest, Imperial Stormtrooper also shown.
They also talked about the Black Series Archive line, talking about who is being re-issued for Wave 1. That wave will come with Boba Fett, Bossk, IG-88, and Luke Skywalker (X-Wing Pilot) (more…)
