I have been having killer luck lately when it comes to finding NECA goodness in the wild. On my weekly Target visit I found the new Predator wave and just one Ultimate Gremlin hiding behind some T2 figures. I grabbed the gremlin and will have to wait on the Predators, you can only afford so much.
As much as I would like more than one, at $27.99 that’s a tough sell. Especially if you plan on getting Stripe and the GameStop exclusive too. (more…)
In case you haven’t noticed, we are sort of changing our focus to mostly unboxings and actual in hand pictures and reviews.
That said, on to our next half assed review. I missed a few weeks at my local comic shop so I was already bracing for the higher total. Keeping that in mind I tried hard to do anything beside walk in, get my pull box and leave. But of course, the devil popped up on my shoulder and told me to go to check out the NECA section. Popeye has a long history and has always been popular. Ever since his first appearance in 1929, Popeye has been one of the most recognizable pop culture icons. Thanks to him, spinach consumption increased 33% in between 1931-36.
Even though I knew I liked Popeye, this was the figure I never knew I wanted. As popular as he is in print media and marketing, there aren’t too many action figures of him. That’s why it’s refreshing to see companies like Mezco take a crack at it. They not only got a hit, but a home run with this one. For your usual One:12 Collective price you get a really great figure with some pretty cool accessories.
Living in a large city has a few benefits. It increases your odds for scoring Target exclusives like the NECA Thermal Vision Fugitive Predator. It didn’t take me long to find one on shelves, finding it at the third Target in my area. Once out of the box this figure is truly a gem. (more…)
I finally found NECA’s Ultimate Fugitive Predator at Target right before heading to New York. With stuff still left to unpack and open from the move back from Seattle, I am just now getting around to taking him out of the box. I figured I better hurry with the newly revealed Emissary #1 shipping out next month. If you haven’t already, you can check him out here. I know many were expecting their next reveal to be the super predator, but this is cool none the less.
Back to the fugitive. After finally seeing him in the first trailer I couldn’t wait to see what NECA was going to bring to the table with their figure. One of the many licenses I’m glad to see them own is the Predator franchise. They do great figures at a great price and this one is no different. (more…)
