I know I am going to age myself again with this post. Few movies can stand the test of time and Home Alone is one of them. It is hard to believe this year is the 25th Anniversary. My children insist on watching it in the car on every road trip. We also watch it, along with Christmas Vacation, every Christmas Eve. This year it looks like it will be back in theaters too. Mondo is the mastermind behind some pretty sweet looking 1:6 scale Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures and Donatello just went up for pre-order today. As I got older and my income increased so did my taste in collectibles. Like any kid I had a ton of Hot-Wheels growing up. Well Mattel got smart and as us kids got older they started making their die-cast fancier and fancier. Now, as an adult I still buy the dollar Hot-Wheels for my son and the Hot-Wheels Elite for me. It looks like Gentle Giant is helping bring Skottie Young’s art to life. If you are not familiar with Scottie’s work, its very cartoonish and childlike compared to other Marvel artist. But he found his niche and I think he is doing pretty well for himself. (more…)
