Everyone knew Warner Brothers was looking for a new home for their DC toy license once Mattel was done with it. It was announced a few weeks back that some of the DC licenses were heading over to Spin Master. Most of those were role playing and other games. At the time, no one knew where the action figures were headed, but we do now. No one, me included, saw McFarlane toys swinging for the fences and coming out on top. (more…)
I got this month’s Marvel Collector Corps X-Men box the other day, and I still ask myself why I still get them. I am the dream customer for this business model since I always forget to cancel.
Themes are starting to get repeated, and besides the POP!, not much in these boxes excite me anymore. I can only have so many t-shirts, keychains, and socks.
So, if you are still waiting on yours and want to be surprised, stop reading. If you want to see what’s coming or what you missed out on, continue on. (more…)
I have been having killer luck lately when it comes to finding NECA goodness in the wild. On my weekly Target visit I found the new Predator wave and just one Ultimate Gremlin hiding behind some T2 figures. I grabbed the gremlin and will have to wait on the Predators, you can only afford so much.

Keeping that in mind I tried hard to do anything beside walk in, get my pull box and leave. But of course, the devil popped up on my shoulder and told me to go to check out the NECA section. Popeye has a long history and has always been popular. Ever since his first appearance in 1929, Popeye has been one of the most recognizable pop culture icons. Thanks to him, spinach consumption increased 33% in between 1931-36.
Even though I knew I liked Popeye, this was the figure I never knew I wanted. As popular as he is in print media and marketing, there aren’t too many action figures of him. That’s why it’s refreshing to see companies like Mezco take a crack at it. They not only got a hit, but a home run with this one. For your usual One:12 Collective price you get a really great figure with some pretty cool accessories.
