Inside the Toy Box: Issue Twenty-Four

Inside the Toy Box sums up recent toy news, top sellers, trends, pre-orders and any other great happenings in the world of toys and pop culture.

We are not doing these post on a weekly basis anymore because it seems readers prefer the specific post and not a random summary of random stuff.    We will still do them, but not as often.

There are a lot of goodies coming out on May 1st.  Some of those are Finding Dory, the reboot of Ghostbusters, and Shopkins season 5.  Shopkins are a huge hit, so expect season 5 to go quick. You can also expect to pick up the highly sought after Disney Lego Minifigures at the first of the month as well.  My Target goofed and put them out early so I already snagged Donald, Ariel, and Aladdin.

4/26 is “Aliens Day”, and to mark the occasion NECA is releasing this Ripley Kenner throwback at Toys R Us and GoHastings.  I got one on pre-order since my Toys R Us has no love for NECA.  Speaking of NECA, their 1/4 scale Freddy Kruger is up for pre-order and set for November delivery.

In Hasbro news be on the look out for Transformers Rescue Bot Blurr.  You can get the set here and he is going for close to $100 on eBay.  Even if he drops to $50-$60 by delivery, it’s not a bad flip considering he will run you around $10.  As always you want to do your research as much as you can, but I did look at sites such as WalmartTarget and Toys R Us and I could not find the UPC for Blurr that is in this case.

I got this month’s Marvel Collector Corps and I must say, I am  actually impressed.  The 2-pack POP! is the winner for me.  The next month’s theme is “Women of Power” and promises to include some Spider-Gwen, She-Hulk, and Captain Marvel.

Walgreens decided to release a wave of Star Wars Exclusive POPS!.  The set includes an AT-AT Driver,  Ree YeesKit Fisto, and Plo Koon.  The Walgreens in my area are pretty good with exclusive so I am hoping to easily add these to my collection.

That’s all we have for now.  We don’t want to bore you too much, but as always, be sure to follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to keep up with all the toy news.
