Inside the Toy Box sums up the past week’s toy news, top sellers, trends, pre-orders and any other great happenings in the world of toys and pop culture.

We just got back from Spring Break in sunny Los Angeles so apologies again for the missed week (or two).  If you haven’t been checking in there is a lot going on to get you caught up on.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is just a few days a way and the marketing machine is full steam ahead with this one.  The Mattel Barbie line is in stock so be sure to look for those on shelves.  The set includes Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.  I guess I collect Barbie now because I picked up Batman.   (more…)

So Long “Slave” Leia

It is a sad day for Star Wars fans every where.  It sounds like Lucasfilm and Disney may no longer (from the sound of it) be licensing any “Slave” Leia items.  According to artist J. Scott Campbell, they aren’t even letting him draw the image for future comics.  The official statement reads, “Princess Leia’s Slave Leia costume is being retired from the Star Wars IP for merchandise and marketing.” (more…)

Update: Star Wars Black Series & EPVII Toys

Its is already July and you can already feel the calm before the storm.  Not only are retailers ramping up orders for the Holiday season, they are also getting antsy for Force Friday, which is Sept 4th.  There are no pre-orders up on the wholesale level so they are keeping this one close until the very end.
