The big news is next month’s Loot Crate. The theme is Dead and it will contain an exclusive McFarlane figure from The Walking Dead. There also promises to be a Deadpool item as well. After a couple of lack luster months there is finally a crate I am looking forward too. Another subscription box looking to ride the Deadpool movie coat tails is Marvel’s Collector Corps. In my opinion, both of those boxes are sound investments this month. While we are on the topic of subscription boxes, get in on DC’s Legion of Collectors. The Absorbing Man BAF Wave is hitting shelves as we speak and now it looks like we can look forward to a Red Skull BAF next. This wave will include Captain America (comic version), Mockingbird, Sharon Carter, Whirlwind, Cottonmouth, Demolition Man, and Taskmaster. (more…)
Thanks to Empire we get our first good look at Constable Zuvio besides what we have seen in toys. We already know from his biography he is “A vigilant law officer on a mostly lawless world, the tough and humorless Constable Zuvio keeps order in a frontier trading post.” Judging by the image from Empire and the fact that he is in the desert I am going out on a limb and saying he’s some where on Jakku. The uniforms are quite the contrast to the gritty tone of the planet. Another give away is he comes in the Desert and Snow wave in 3 3/4-inch figures. He is labeled, Desert Mission-Constable Zuvio. I am not a fan of the retro figures with cloth outfits that many toy makers seem to be doing. What I am a fan of is the retro 3 3/4-inch figures with limited articulation, like ReAction for instance. “Whats old is new”, is the old saying. Heck, Hasbro has even gone simpler with the 3 3/4-inch EVPII figures. They are selling well so I think they might be on to something. I am not just talking Star Wars. Reaction has plenty of licenses that continually do well and sell out. Back to the Future, Goonies, and Terminator just to name a few. (more…)
