Inside the Toy Box sums up the past week’s toy news, top sellers, trends, pre-orders and any other great happenings in the world of toys and pop culture.

Big news is the reports that Mattel and Hasbro are in talks to join forces.  Right now, all it is are talks and I don’t see this happening without huge regulatory scrutiny.  It would be hard for the two largest toy companies to merge without forming a monopoly.

Lego, next biggest toy maker, had a few announcements of their own at the UK Toy Fair. (more…)

The big news is next month’s Loot Crate.  The theme is Dead and it will contain an exclusive McFarlane figure from The Walking Dead.   There also promises to be a Deadpool item as well.  After a couple of lack luster months there is finally a crate I am looking forward too.  Another subscription box looking to ride the Deadpool movie coat tails is Marvel’s Collector Corps.  In my opinion, both of those boxes are sound investments this month.  While we are on the topic of subscription boxes, get in on DC’s Legion of Collectors.  It’s the only place you’ll be able to snag an Armored Batman POP! We are still trying to get back on track from the Christmas holiday so bear with us.  I finally got around to seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens and I wasn’t disappointed.  I already want to see it again.  If you haven’t seen is there are possible spoilers ahead, so you’ve been warned. (more…)

1966 Batman Coming to Lego

The rumors are true, 1966 Batman is coming to Lego and they are pulling out all the stops.  I am a huge fan of Batman and 1966 is one of my favorites.  The 1966 Batmobile is in my top three with the Tumbler and the 1989 Batmobile.  The Batfleck mobile is creeping up there.   (more…)
